The Rudradhari Falls and Caves are located at a distance of 12 kilometres from Kausani on the Kausani-Almora road. The waterfall issituated at an elevation of 1,555 metres above the sea level. It is located at a trekking distance of 2 kilometres from Kantali Village. The trekking route to the waterfalls is located on the trekking way to Adi Kailash Region.
The name Rudradhari is derived from the Hindu Gods Rudra (Lord Shiva) and Hari (Lord Vishnu). Rudradhari Waterfalls and Caves are bounded by terraced fields, verdant green paddy fields and pine forests with a spellbinding view of the falls and mysteries of the ancient caves that lie near the waterfall. The falls impinging the valley flows from their rivers and small springs. The compelling and roaring sound of the waterfall can be heard from a distance of 1.5 kilometres while trekking from the Kantali Village.
This is a must visit place for the tourists visiting Kausani and an ideal place for the people to get started with trekking as the trek is comparatively less difficult. The short trek is overwhelming filled with rocks and mountains along with the beautiful scenery of the surroundings. It is suggested that one wears comfortable shoes for trekking and carries water bottles to feed the thirst on the way.
According to the Legend this is the place where manifestation of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu took place.
One can hire a taxi from Kausani and reach Kantali Village from where one can trek a distance of 2 kilometres to reach the waterfall and caves.
