Narad Kund is a recess in the Alaknanda River and is naturally sheltered by a rock with projecting angles which prevents the flow of the water current. The water in the Kund is so hot that it would be suggested not to take long baths in the pond. The water of Narad Kund is hot even in the extreme of temperatures. Devotees take a dip into the pond before visiting the sacred Badrinath Temple.
It is believed that Narad Muni wrote Narad Bhakti Sutra at Narad Kund and this is why the pond was named Narad Kund.
Narad Kund is located at a walking distance from Badrinath Temple.
