The zoo is managed by The Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Society. There are a large number of animals in the zoo including: Leopard, Royal Bengal Tiger, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Sambar, Himalayan Martin, Red Jungle Fowl and some of the birds species as well. The visitors enjoy a close view of all these animals and a lot more which reside in the zoo.
There are many programmes which are organised in the zoo to create awareness for many of the endangered animals. Some of them are Wildlife week which is celebrated during 1st to 7th October, World Environment Day and Ozone Conservation Day, Zoo Foundation Day and many other events.
The zoo was established in 1984 and was opened for visitors from 1st June in the year 1995.
One can reach at the zoo by taking a sharing Jeep from Mall Road or a taxi by package tours can also take you here while reaching here by walk is always an option.
