Kausani is a hill station and village situated at an elevation of 1,890 metres above the water mark. The Administrative headquarters of Bageshwar district is situated in Kausani. Kausani lies atop a ridge amidst dense pine trees overlooking Someshwar Valley on one side and Garur and Katyuri valley on the other. Kausani is a part of the Lesser Himalayas and is the origin of the Kosi river which has very fertile banks known as seras.
Kausani is famous for the tea which is grown here. There is a variety of tea which is grown and processed at the place and is directly imported from here to various countries.
