Himalayan Botanical Garden is situated at an altitude of 1900 mts. and located in the Nainital district of the state of Uttarakhand. It is spread over an area of 74 acres. The Himalayan Botanical Garden is a centre of study for the scientists and the botanists.
The Himalayan Botanical Garden was developed in 2005. The Botanical Garden is also known as the ‘Nature Study Centre’ as it provides a platform for education and learning to the students, scientists, researchers, and botanists. The garden has some rare medicinal plants. Some of the plant species are Asclepias curassavia, Uritica dioica, Carum carvi, Belamcanda chinensis and many others. The major attractions of the garden include a butterfly park, an orchidarium, library, fernery, herbarium, Thunia Alba orchid, Geodesic dome, waterfalls, cactus garden, bamboo hut, etc.
The nearest railway station is located in Kathgodam at the distance of 34 kms. from Nainital.
The nearest airport is at Panta,nagar at a distance of 65 kms.
Buses and taxis are easily available from Nanital.
