Gun Hill, Mussoorie

Gun Hill was named after a gun that was mounted on this hill top before pre Independence days. Nowadays the place has a water reservoir of the city. No fee is required at the hill once you reach there. The duration of 2 hours is enough to invade. One can also trek to the Gunn Hill if not taking the ropeway which obviously needs a lot of time as well.
History:
 In January 1777, the colonists brought a canon to the top of a hill in Mussoorie and fired at the British. This hill now inside Woodlawn Cemetery was called Gun Hill afterwards. The road was known as Kingsbridge road also got its name changed to Gun Hill Road.

How to Reach

One can reach the hill by trekking or from the cable car which has its base at the Mall road of Mussoorie.
