Dhikala Zone, Jim Corbett National Park

The Dhikala Zone is located at a distance of 30 kilometres in the dense forest of the Jim Corbett National Park and the entry gate for this zone is Dhangadi. This zone is on the edge of Patli Dun Valley.

The timings for a visit in this zone are:
Winters-Morning safari from 7 am to 10 pm.
Evening safari from 2 pm to 5:30 pm

Summers- Morning safari from 6 am to 9:30 pm.
Evening safari from 3 pm to 6:30 pm.

The Dhikara Zone is a zone of immense natural beauty and abundant wildlife. It provides one of the best sights of the Corbett National Park. This zone consists of the largest remaining grassland which is Dhikala Chaur with Phulai Chaur. A safari can be pre booked from Ramnagar Office or online. Some of the best activities in this zone are bird watching, safari and wildlife photography. Sightings of various animals like elephants, hog deer, chital and many more can delight the visitors at any time during the safari.


A different feature in this zone is that the animal sightseeing can be done in a Canter Safari which is a bus safari apart from the elephant and jeep safari which are common in all the other zones. There is an old forest rest house which is a historic structure built over hundred years ago. There are also many accommodations for visitors in Dhikala zone including the rest houses and quarters. There is solar electric fencing at the place so that the visitors are safe. It is suggested that one carries a binoculars for a better view of the animals. 

How to Reach

Dhangarhi Gate can be reached by bus or other public convince from Ramnagar and a Canter safari or Elephant safari can take you to the Dhikala zone from the Dhangarhi Gate.
