The Ashram is today a sight close to the forest area with some graffiti on the old walls at the place. Beatles ashram is a famous spot for tourists even though there is not very much to do. Tourists come here from faraway to see the place where one of the most famous band Beatles visited and stayed in India. This place was closed for a long time for visitors earlier but is now available for the visitors to see.

The place is now full of Beatles artwork which is loved by their fans and the lush overgrowth also drives a lot of people to the place. The place is a must visit for the fans of the famous band Beatles as well as followers of Maharshi Yogi who was the founder and owner of this meditation Ashram in Rishikest even before The Beatles had arrived to the city. 

History
Maharishi Yogi was a famous teacher of meditation who had gone to London in the year 1967 when he had an ashram named after him. The most famous band of the 60’s named as Beatles attended a seminar given by Maharishi on meditation in Bangor, Wales, and they were very much impressed by him. It was then Maharishi Yogi invited the Beatles to his ashram in Rishikesh. In February 1968, The Beatles visited Rishikesh to visit Maharishi Yogi’s Ashram to attend an advanced Transcendental Meditation training session. The visit was one of the productive periods of band and the city of Rishikesh became famous worldwide because of this. The Ashram after the death of Maharishi came to be popularly known as Beatles Ashram. 

How to Reach

You can walk a distance of 700 metres from Parmarth Niketan or 1 km from Ram Jhula (Bridge) to reach Beatles Ashram.
